Check Out The Honda 2022 Civic Si

Honda debuted the new 2022 Civic Si in mid October and it has since hit the road in the fall. They announced that the vehicle is only available as a Sedan with a six speed manual transmission to help #SaveTheManuals. 

 

Changes made to the 11th generation Civic were directed towards greater daily driving flexibility to make the sports sedan fun and engaging to drive. The Civic Si is able to fly under the radar without any major changes to its exterior appearance besides the new front bumper, rear spoiler and dual exhaust tips. Complaints about the sound should no longer endure with the new exhaust system that has increased flow by 27% over the 2022 Civic sedan. New standard 18-inch wheels are matte black instead of the glossy as seen in other Civic Sports vehicles and shod in all-season rubber (summer tires optional). 

 

The Civic Si still features the same 1.5-liter turbocharged four cylinder (solely mated to the six speed manual transmission) and rev-matching system as the Civic Type R. In addition, the horsepower is down by 5, making it an even 200. According to Honda, the new powerband is broader and therefore peaks at higher RPM. With the new powerband, responsiveness, performance, and drivability should improve. With the 2022 Civic Si, drivers will feel greater stability at higher speeds. Enlarged brakes and a thicker stabilizer grace the Civic Si compared to the standard Civic. 

 

A gloss black trim is used for the mirrors and window surrounds while a red contrast highlights key features on the interior, including stitching on the seats, steering wheel and shifter, and is found on the dash and door panels. There is more support for the thigh and shoulders in the front seats with a longer cushion and integrated headrests. In terms of technology, the Civic Si has the same cabin tech suite as the standard Civic Sedan compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Civic Si also has the standard Honda Sensing Suite for safety tech.
